Blogging is not 100% profit. We have to attach an hourly wage to our time as a blogger to determine blog profit.

We established that the word profit can be misleading especially when talking about blogging profit. Only by understanding how a business is ran can we establish what are profits really are. This is very important to especially when your blogging in your part time and hold a full time job. What you claim as profit in actuality can be a loss. Below you will find out how to determine if in fact you are making a profit at blogging.

When I hear the words blogging is 100 percent profit it is unsettling because it is a misleading and far from the truth.

The reason why it unsettles me because is it does not account for the hours it took to write said articles. Meaning under that heading your working hours as a writer have the face value of 0 dollars. Under real world circumstance if a business were to run this way by not accounting for their employees working hours we would be at the point of slave labor. You don’t work for free do you? Blogging is not pure profit.

It also does not account for the working hours it took to research the article.

Does not account for whether the blog and website monthly hosting fee.

Does not account for the paid equipment it took to write said articles.

Let’s say I made 50 dollars in one month working at home through internet marketing.  It took 1 hour to research and 1 hour write the article. Now you should multiply that by the amount of content you put out monthly. For me it would tally in at 60 working hours in a month because I post once a day.

Now let’s assume I get paid above minimum wage because the quality of my content is unique and professional. So I attach the monetary value of my time at $10.00 dollars an hour. Now multiply 60 hours x 10.00 is $600.00.

In order to make a profit I would have to make more than $600.00 dollars through my internet marketing to cover my working hours. Now let’s subtract the fictitious $50.00 in income you made from your blog for that month. You are now siting at -$550.00 dollars. Meaning you would have to make at least $551.00 more through your internet marketing to make a real world profit of $1.00 dollar. Your profit has just turned into a loss.

By attaching a monetary value to your working hours as a blogger you can determine if in fact your profit is a profit or your profit is a loss. It is of utmost importance you create your own blogger hourly wage to determine if you are making a profit.

Now this example is not even taking into to consideration the home office equipment or blog maintenance cost it takes to blog daily and I will like to cover that more in depth tomorrow.
