Improving Your Video
I want to cover improving your video and podcasts. The biggest struggle with building any website is the learning curve. For me it is improving my video. I will be honest mine are not great yet.
I want to offer you professional quality content so that’s when I started looking for a pro that is tied directly to the industry.
I have been following Dave Kaminski at Web Video University for a month now, making comments on his blog and watching his free content.
I took the plunge yesterday and I signed up for his 4 week course. After I logged into the classroom I wasn’t disappointed and knew he wasn’t just pitching with all the content he promised. Plus you get exclusive access to his online forum.
Let me be honest going solo and learning the ropes of how to improve your videos is a daunting task. It took me a month to finally say hey either I give up on making video altogether or I learn from someone that has first hand experience. The great part is you can start improving your videos. You might be thinking why podcasting and why should you incorporate videos into your website?
An eMarketer study in 2010 says…
The number of US online video viewers has risen steadily for the past few years and is expected to continue climbing in moderate increments through 2014.
A Pew internet 2010 study says..
Seven in ten adult internet users (69%) have used the internet to watch or download video. That represents 52% of all adults in the United States.
So you can see there is a steady growth first hand with the rate of video viewing on the net.
The awesome thing about creating video is a lot of website are not onboard yet..Yea sure you have YouTube but when it comes to learning..it is hard to find professional video resources. That is something we as website owners can start serving to our viewers. Remember it’s a barely touched niche.
Let me stress this again. Going solo and learning the ropes on your own is a huge time sink. It took me a 3 months of trying to improve my videos to finally say either I give up on making video’s altogether or I learn from someone that has that firsthand experience and that is where Dave Kaminski at Web Video University can help you.

The only thing I did not like is how you have to give Dave your credit card information directly. Privacy of my confidential information is very important to me. There are ways to offer your customers security and that is through using Paypal. PayPal allows you to buy products from the internet and at the same time keep your credit card information private were it should be. Their is absolutely no reason nowadays for companies that sell products online to require releasing your confidential credit card number for buying their products. Although this might be great for him it will turn away returning customers like me. So the biggest downfall of Dave’s course is no alternative safe methods of purchasing his product.
With that this is Scot Manaher signing off.
