Posting Challenge Results
Posting Challenge Results
These results are taken from a article posting challenge we successfully finished completing at Niche Website Strategy for the last thirty days consecutively. The statistical results were taken from our Google Analytics account between the dates of August 9, 2010 to September 7, 2010 and compared with last month’s results from July 10, 2010 to August 8, 2010.
As I said this month we posted for thirty consecutive days. Last month we were posting 3 articles a week. That is over twice as many articles this month compared to last month. Here are the findings of those results.
Site Usage
Visits increased by +27.86%
Pageviews increased by +41.77%
Bounce rate increased by +6.12%
We expect our bounce rate to increase on the front page of our website. That means the higher it is the more people are landing on our blog page. This is exactly what we want. Your website might want to see a lower bounce rate depending how you have your entrance page setup. Anything below 25% is great.
New visits increased by 9.93%
Traffic Sources
Referring Sites -0.36%
Direct Traffic +10.14%
Search Engines +11.48%
Note: The search engine traffic source increase is the most important field. It means that we increased our exposure in Google by 11.48% more than we did last month.
Visitor Overview
459 Visits Previous: 359 (+27.86%)
316 Absolute Unique Visitors Previous: 222 (+42.34%)
1,697 Pageviews Previous: 1,197 (+41.77%)
3.70 Average Pageviews Previous: 3.33 (+10.88%)
00:05:26 Time on Site Previous: 00:05:37 (-3.22%)
54.68% Bounce Rate Previous: 51.53% (+6.12%)
66.45% New Visits Previous: 60.45% (+9.93%)
Note: The absolute unique visitor is the most important field and just so happens it increased the most. The returning visitors are not calculated in, so that is nearly 45% more visitors by sticking to the posting challenge for 30 days.
The lower time on site percentage is reasonable if you take into consideration that a lot of the articles I posted this month were 300-400 words in length that is 100-200 words less than previous months. Meaning it took less time to read the articles compared to the previous month.
Content Overview
1,697 Pageviews Previous: 1,197 (+41.77%)
1,021 Unique Views Previous: 788 (+29.57%)
54.68% Bounce Rate Previous: 51.53% (+6.12%)
Results Summary
I am very happy with the results. We not only extended our exposure in search engines but we gained more visitors in the process. That tells me we are staying on track in our niche and keeping the reader’s attention.
Don’t mistake all of this for bragging. These results are to help you determine if a 30 day posting challenge is worth the effort. It is my opinion as a webmaster that it was well worth the effort involved. We want to help you as a webmaster get similar results and increase your exposure in search engines with our SEO techniques.
Something to think on is if you’re seeing many more visitors than we are currently, then the results based on these statistics should increase even that much more. Meaning you will get much more out of a 30 day posting challenge compared to a smaller website like us if you already are receiving many more hits per day going into the challenge.
I hope you enjoyed reading this! I find looking at and comparing statistics alot of fun especially when the results are obviously paying off.

Well done, but very low for the statistical conclusions. Really.
Thanks Dali I do agree. I think larger websites would get the most benefit from it. I guess we all have to start somewhere.

Interesting results – yeah, the increase in unique visitors and not returning visitors is what you’re after :)
