Sploggers Working For You
Are you worried about who rips your content? This term is often referred to as article leeching, sploggers and scrapers. For whatever reason they do it is irrelevant but they do it at the expense of the hard working legitimate webmaster like you and me.
Here is the goal you want to make your content accessible to everyone but at the same time make those scrapers and sploggers work for you and I have the proof that you can do this.
There are many WordPress content protection addons out there. Some are good some are bad. The difference is you want to make your content accessible to all without a huge amount of overhead of WordPress addons protecting that content.
Some of these addon that work against you are, eliminating copy and paste, disabling visitor hotkey use or disabling java script. All of these thing work against the whitehat webmaster.
Remember you are also serving content to the disabled, visually impaired, hearing impaired. These types of plugins will restrict screen readers from reading your content. In some countries it is law to make your website accessible to all. So any restrictions the plugins puts on your content can really hurt you in the long run.
Don’t fret I have some great news for that you can make these sploggers and leeches work for you. At the same time make your website accessible to all.
A great add on I use is called RSS Footer what it does is it puts a lines of code in your RSS Feed linking back to your website. What the splogger and scraper will do is subscribe to your feed then through your automated feed, the splogger will run a bot that automatically copies -n-pastes your copyrighted article on their website. These people are lazy and don’t flesh out the links.
Here is more information about RSS Footer that you might find helpful. According to Yoast maker of RSS Footer!
This very simple plugin let’s you add an extra line of content to articles in your feed, defaulting to “Post from: ” and then a link back to your blog, with your blog’s name as it’s anchor text, which you can edit like this:
To install, just download the plugin zip file, unzip it, upload the rss-footer.php file to your plugins folder and enable it.
You can then also choose to position the sentence before your content instead of the default: after.

FAQ
How come my FeedBurner feed doesn’t immediately show the changes?
You should first try to ping FeedBurner, and see if that makes it show up in your feed. If it doesn’t, log in to your FeedBurner account, select the appropriate feed, and click on the “Troubleshootize” tab. Half way down the page you’ll find a “Resync” button, that should make the changes show up almost instantly.
Can I insert more than one line into the RSS footer?
You can throw an entire work of Shakespeare in there, should you want to. I wouldn’t recommend doing that though.
Let’s face it sploggers are not going away anytime soon, so start making them work for you by downloading and installing RSS Footer.
